Thanks ya'll! It was a rough night and morning, but I think I'll try and stay happy. I think he could tell something was wrong last night when when he was sitting in my lap, and I was crying my eyes out.
I tell ya, just a week ago I thought I had another year with him. Now all I can think about is what a great dog he has been, and how many times I let him down.

Got to go.. Tearin up again.

Man, I just hate to hear that.  I truly feel for you. I can't even read these posts without getting teary eyed.  I've got a 12year old lady black Lab at home-still going strong, but know I could be in your shoes any day from here on out.  Whatever you do, don't watch the movie Marley and Me.

Enjoy your time with him.  I have had to put down two labs due to cancer.  It never gets easy.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

This is always tough, its never easy to get this kind of news about your hunting partner and best friend. My Lab past of cancer while i was commerical fishing in Alaska, i wasn,t informed of it until i got home.  I am glad my family waited until i got home to tell me or i would have been a mess up there. Enjoy every minute you possibly can!
