The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
been wearing danner's all of my life with no problems. Wear Super Rain Forest on the job site and out in the field. If you take care of them you'll have no problems.
Here's the thing...most of what you are going to hear in the form of feedback is going to be the absolute worse, or the absolute best. A lot of the in between (satisfied customers) don't care to take the time to spread the "news", and I'm sure Danner has a lot of "satisfied" customers or they would be out of business. With that said, I have found that the leather used is certainly a softer leather than other boots, and wears quickly. After a year or two of hard use, I personally don't see how they could possibly hold up (the Danner Pronghorns). Mine made it through three weeks in October, and if you saw them you would think they are 5 years old...This past year I purchased a pair of Lowa hiking boots, and after the same exact type of use (same mountains) they look brand new. The leather is not scuffed up or gouged at all. Danners (Pronghorns at least) sure have their place though, they are light and not much break is required. Just be ready to replace them often if you actually get out there and use them.
They will leak again.
I've bought a lot of danner boots and I really liked them but unfortunately I just cannot buy them anymore with the made in china tag. That really irks me.

Yeah, one is quality and the other is not.
