Unit 204 late hunters?
« on: December 14, 2010, 08:50:50 PM »
There were a few posts about the late hunts in unit 204, I know I responded to a couple yet I have not seen or heard any reports. I know a guy at work that had one of the (5) any buck tags (quality buck, not late any white tail) and he got a 4x mule deer. I was hoping some of the folks that were looking for info and got it would at least let us know how they did  :dunno:.

That is exactly what we should be seeing out of that hunt. Great buck! Did he get that on the quality buck tag or the any white tail buck tag? Thanks for posting the picture.

It was the late draw whitetail tag!! I also want to thank the gentleman from omak that had one of the 5 any deer tags to let us hunt this buck unpressure and not making it a foot race once again thanks Brian

my dad lives in chesaw and i get to do a little hunting there. i drew a multy deer tag.  i past on a 4x3 muly that  my cuz shot a hour later and my uncle got a 3x3. i saw a big and heavy 3x3 the next day, with archery stuck in my head( i never hunted modern before) i waited for him to stop WALKING, then my cuz yelled at me, "you have a gun you idiot, shoot". by then it was to late. i thought, oh well, i still have late bow. thats when it got real bad. i under shot the first 4 3x3 with eyegurds, tryed to lead one and shot in front of it and hit the only limb in a 100 acres on the 6th buck. :bash: the last 2 were 4points with eyegurds. we saw 5x5 with eyegurds and a couple more 4 points. saw 10 to 15 bucks a day. i am going back with a blind next year. my bow was on, i was just off. we saw more deer this year, then the last 4 years. wish i had a pic to show but i suck. :P
hunt for the the challange of the hunt and the meat,  and it's always a trophey....poachers suck.

Awesome buck for your buddy time2hunt.  Dreaming of seeing one like that over there.  Maybe next year.

Nice buck.  Congrats to the hunter!  Curious if that was shot near or on the last day, and if it was to supposedly score 170"+??  Thanks for any info.

Belkaholic, Chesaw is a cool little town, I have family just outside of there. We hunted the game land just to the west of Chesaw for a few times in 01 and 02. There is a lot of deer around there for sure and it sounds like you were in the right spot. Next year you ought to put out some game cams (if you hunt your Dads place) and see what else you are missing. If nothing else in the blind next year bring a partner that can work a camera so we cal all see what you got to see. Sounds like  a great season even if you did not fill a tag.
