Got the itch early...Ugh
« on: December 15, 2010, 06:42:37 AM »
So I either have no life, or am entirely hooked.  Actually counted it out on the calendar and there is 121 more days until turkey season...

Me too, though I didn't count. Actually, on the east side late fall season ends today. I killed a hen on the 2nd with my bow.

Can't wait till spring season again. My daughter will actually be old enough to carry a shotgun this year, hopefully.  :)
There was never a horse that couldn't be rode; there was never a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.

I'm going to hunt for the first time this coming year.  Should be a learning experience.

Yeah, I came across some big gobbler tracks while hunting grouse on the west side last week.  Got my blood boiling for April 15.  Not ready to start the compulsive scouting just yet, but I'm getting close.

I think if you catch it early enough, they make a cream :chuckle:

I was looking at some of my pics today. Pulled up some turkey hunting pics, and it got me thinking  :archery_smiley:

I know what you guys mean. I found myself staring at the turkey calls yesterday at the store, and trying to decide shotgun or bow. I have gotten a bird with both, but I think its more fun to slap it upside the head with lead. ;)

I would love to go get a tom! I can get on some land in the blues if someone wants to go, maybe give me some pointers! I have never done it  :bash: :bash:

Have not also counted the days but I know it is going to happen. Got my first turkey during the late season and hope to smoke it before long. It should be good and will only make me want to go again and get another one or two. I am going to drive the wife nuts with practice calling but she puts up with it.

Ordered my spring turkey tags today. I am all set for the opener.

104 days until the opener, which is on a Friday this year.
