I always name mine after famous Marines

Chesty- highest decorated marine
Opha- first female marine
Mackie- first Marine to win the medal of honor

Currently I have Smedley- personal favorite marine of the past...one bad bad MOFO
Smedley is a beagle
Marines do it better

My next dog will be a GWP or the like...Sage if it's a female(most likely) or Loomis if it's a male.

I always like the funny human names like:
Leonard
Leroy
Merle
Gus (this was the name of my last dog)

Especially fitting for any sort of hound, though.

When I worked upland openers, seemed like half the dogs were named You Son of a Bitch.  Next most common was God*censored*
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

To add to the above:
I have 2 dogs now:
Sue and Lucy

Horses names (might also double as dog names, I guess):
Gretchen
Honey (called Honey Bunches of Oats after the cereal for some reason which has now been shortened to Bunches.  :dunno: )
Claire

Used to have horses called Toby, Mr. Pickles and Hazel.

For little kick dogs, the Mr. or Mrs. Something (Pickles, Biscuits, whatever) are always kind of funny.  Totally impractical for any useful dog that you might have in the field with you, though.

This is Sawyer. Short for Pollyanna's Tom Sawyer. His momma was Huckleberry's Pollyanna. We've also had Chevy (White German Shepard), Bodi & Sadie (Beagles), Jazz (German Shepard).
