Aberdeen -- A few gray wolves are believed to be living in remote parts of Washington, and the Fish and Wildlife Department is working on a plan that could get them off the state endangered species list.

While many people welcome the idea others worry more of the predators would threaten livestock.

The Daily World of Aberdeen reports the department is working its way through public comments on its management plan, specifically the controversial idea of moving wolves into areas such as the Olympic National Park.

One state lawmaker, Brian Blake of Aberdeen, says there’s no reason to move wolves to the Olympic Peninsula and he’ll fight any such plan.

I don't see how 'moving' them would help anyone

Glad it sounds like the WDFW is receptive to the idea of de-listing them though.. then we get to enact pop. control

Thanks for posting this

Actually, I support planting them over on the islands.   There would complete havoc and wanton destruction.    Exactly like is happening everywhere else those varmints live.   But this time the people that have the money and votes would see first hand what they bring and things would change.  As long as only the rural eastern part of the state has them nobody cares one iota if a rancher looses his stock or hunting dogs get killed.  When the civilized people get harmed , things will change.  I say take them to the islands ASAP and get this mess fixed.
