I am not sure.  My friend who shot it sent me a cell pic that isn't real clear.  I was gone most of the day yesterday.  I am waiting to call him tomorrow since it is Christmas.

Day 10 started out like any other day we woke up at the hotel grabbed our coffee and stale muffin and decided to go and area where we had seen some elk the previous week. Once we pulled in to unload the snowmobiles there was another gentleman there looking for a cow, and he stated that the day before he had seen 3 elk and they were all bulls. We were stoked and hopefully they hadn't gone far. We rode up the mountain and got to a new vantage point where we figured the guy was talking about and after 5 mins we were able to spot 1 elk feeding and after closer inspection noticed it was a 6x6 as we watched it feed and move across canyon we noticed that there was another elk bedded down and again noticed it was a 6x6 as well a bit smaller but both in our eyes were shooters, as we hadn't seen much up to this point. We sat there and contemplated what our next move was going to be. We decided we had 2 options, one of which was to walk right off the side of the hill and go after them, and the other since we had been there for a few days we remembered there was a road at the bottom of the canyon that would get us alot closer and faster. At this point we were about 800 to 900 yds away and needed to close the distance. After I got our landmarks pinpointed, we rode downa nd around the canyon and came up below them but didn't realize that we were right below them about 200 to 300 yds away, but couldn't see the elk due to the fact of all the repod in the area they were at. We walked up a little ridge across from them and about half way where we wanted to get we noticed that 1 of the elk was looking in our direction, we stopped and had 1 small opening in the trees and Dad decided that it was enough room that he could make a clean shot we were about 200 yds away. He shot and as he walked up to the area where the elk stood I stayed back to make sure he had the right area as the elk just disappeared after he shot. He got up there and there wasn't any blood plus no tracks we looked around and decided to walk around this small tree and some brush and noticed a set of antlers as He went around another tree there stood a 6x6, he looked at it and  as it turned an ran away we got real nervous that hthe elk he shot at just ran off. He then caught out of the corner of his eye the tips of his elk laying in the brush dead. By the time I got to him he was grinning ear to ear and was really pumped up as was I.

We have alot of people to thank for all their help on this hunt, and want to thank everyone from the site for all the areas, and the time they put in to helping us a special thanks goes out to 6x6 and time2hunt words can't express how much we really appreciate your extra effort. These memories will last a lifetime, and after 13 yrs of putting in Dad finally has the biggest bull he has ever taken.
