Dogs in the Fog
« on: December 21, 2010, 10:44:45 PM »
It was cold Sunday morning with a pretty good breeze and snowing when I showed up to the dog cemetery.  I just crossed the property line and across the road in front of me a big ole dog darts... Dang almost got one on the drive.  Guess I just educated that one to the 4 runner call, have to try the pwr.stroke next time..little more snort. Went to the far end of the property and tried a set into the wind looking down into a creek bottom.  It is a steep canyon with rock bluffs which I nestled in a started calling.  Out of the bottom bust about 5 does and up the canyon from them I see more movement can't make it out with my eyes, so I slowly pull up the binos to see it's a coyote coming towards me.  I kept calling and calling and got quieter in case he got close and nothing.  Waited for 30 min. and finally my butt was an ice cube, so I stand up and dirty rat was right there.  He cleared the bluff towards the bottom out of sight just in time.. Darn.. On to the next set.. Moved down the canyon a quarter mile and tried another round.. And well these two couldn't contain them selves.. They both came straight in and I shot the back one on the rock when he stopped and the female bolted around me out of sight, so I kept calling and 8-10 min. later right below me at the cliff base in the sage was the female.. Curtins
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting

Cool Klick.  Nice dogs.. I need to try and get some this winter.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
