Fish mount any suggestions??
«
on:
December 22, 2010, 03:00:00 PM »
So I am going to another school for ten days. I am doing 2 skin mounts and do replicas.
Skin
Small Mouth
Chum Salmon
Replica
Steelhead.
Just seeing if you can name off some more fish for me to look at and pick another replica. I am looking for something with a lot of colors to it.
Thanks
Joe

Sturgeon would be a pretty cool looking mount.

Dorado or Roosterfish.
Does it have to be a Northwest fish?

I would go for a Peacock Bass, lots of very bright colors and a very cool looking freshwater fish.

I have been looking at the dorado, does not have to be a Northwest fish.
Was also thinking of the peacock bass.
Arctic char would be another good one.
Thanks everyone, keep them coming. I just want some fish that have multiple colors in them, the harder it is the more I will learn.
Thanks

Westslope Cutthroat.
Sweet fish, I am liking the shimmers it has in it. The pattern and the blending, this one will go in my pile of making a decision.
Thanks

Skillet that is a beast, do you have any close up photos of that? Would really like to see the colors closer.
Thanks

I don't - that is the world record fish, and actually the colors are a little drab in him. Here's another one that is colored up real nice-
Notice the red dots with blue halos on the sides, white/red fins and the black "worm tracks" on the top of the head, along the back and on the fins. My favorite looking fish-
