'Yote Rig Build
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:01:20 AM »
I've given it some thought, and as time goes, I've been adding to this little Remington of mine, and sure like the end product.

Here I have a dang-me fine 'yote rig that feeds flawlessly and shoots like a dream.

Its a Remmy 700 LH VS in an HS stock, Badger Ordnance Rings/Base, Seekin's Precision bottom metal with true Accuracy International 10 rd detachable mag, Luppy 3.5-10X40mm LR Tactical M3 with Marine Corp. Mill-Dots and a Turner Saddlery sling.

I think I'm in Love.

Can't believe I forgot the caliber!   .223

Yea, she's a little heavy, but it just makes it easy to hole her steady! ;)

Is that the factory stock?  I tried to get a B&C for my varmint barreled 700, but they finally told me they don't make one.  Does the oversized bolt handle clear the scope well?  Who makes the bolt handle?  Sweet rig!  I want one.
Nothing witty here.... move along.

In .308 eh???

You mean like this one?---

Not a very good pic, but she's a .308, McMillan stocked A5 with a Schmidt & Bender Police Marksman II Illuminated Reticle P4 Fine sitting in 34mm Seekin's Precision Rings and 30 MOA Base. Ceramic coated bolt, Badger O knob and Bottom Metal w/Accuracy International 10rd Mags, TIS sling w/cuff.

Shoots like a dream, just like her little Sister.
This one was built for Tactical Precision long range matches.

Very nice and I'm jealous, being a south paw and all.... My only L handed gun is a '06 .... Been drooling over some coyote rigs for some time... I love the fact that it is clip fed... Definitely  custom job.... Merry Christmas!

Now to let the secret out of the bag.

R-Bros did the bottom metal and the bolt knob, and just being one hell of a guy, he bedded it too. When I say it feeds flawlessly, I'm not kidding, like SILK. The Badger O know makes it super easy for a gloved winter hand to grab too.

What impressed me the most, when I got it home, I cleaned it "just in case", as suggested by the Smith, and shot it the next day, and with the first shot, I drilled the bull dead-center, and the following shots grouped around that-close.

The funny part, I was shooting off of snow, just wanted it to be "close" for dogs....but this was BETTER!

Thanks Gentlemen for the fine Work.

I put four of five rounds in a broken off car door at 200yds. Which isnt that great for a bolt action but its ok for an iron sight semi-auto.

With the .223, I fired a 1 1/2" group at 400 yards, oh and that was more than once.....but like you said, you expect more from a bolt action! hehehe    :P
