Danner redemption!

i have a pair of danner ft lewis boots i wear for deer and elk hunting ive worn them elk and deer hunting and it was pouring and i walked thru a creek and mud up to my ankles no problems with them leaking. i got these from danner about 3 years ago. they were made here. they were factory seconds i like them. will have to have them resoled with a more aggressive sole.

I have a 3 year old pair of Danner Frontier's (They are now called the Elkridge)  I have worn them in everything from August Coyote Hunting, September Alpine Wilderness Elk hunting to December deer hunting in Montana.  They have ALWAYS kept my feet dry and warm.  They also are not too hot down here in Alabama.  They have always been extremely comfortable and have held up well.  Only thing Ive replaced are the boot laces.  My other pair of Danners lasted 15 months in Iraq and were also AWSOME.  Granted both of these boots say "Made in the USA" so maybe that has something to do with it.  I love Danner's and they will always have my business.  Next pair of boots I own will probably be the Cabelas/Danners Elk Hunters. 

Also you can't really compair the Lowa's to the Danner Pronghorns.  Two different types of boots.

I love Danner boots as long as they have an American flag on them.

The stuff made in china is just pure junk and not worth a nickel.

That's pretty funny.  What I meant was I wouldn't compare the Pronghorn's to the Lowa's because the two boots are made for two completely different styles of hunting.  I wouldn't use the Pronghorns as a measuring stick on the quality of Danner's. Those boots are not really designed for high country or hard corps styles of hunting.  They are a really light and comfortable boot designed for early season and/or mild terrain.  The leather is soft and so is the rest of the boot.  It's more of a tennis shoe style boot with ankle support.  Wasn't made to be used in some harsher or more extreme type of stuff.  Whereas the Lowa was designed specifically for that.

I can't speak for the Pronghorn since I've never owned a pair.  I can only speak of the Acadia which I have had since 2003 and which saw 15 months in Iraq, and the Danner Frontier which has seen 2.5 hunting seasons of hard use.  From August through December. And they are still awsome.   I say 2.5 because I wouldn't consider this season in Alabama as a full hunting season because of how gentile the terrain is.   

But I 100% agree with you.  I guarantee that your Lowas are better than any set of Pronghorns out there.  And if I had a choice between the 2 I'd take the Lowas hands down.  But also when you are comparing the two think about their design, purpose and the price difference as well.

Oh sorry. I thought you were trying to compare the Lows mountain boos to the pronghorns. My mistake. I appologize. Still I'm sure your Lowas are way better. I think the Pronghorns suck. That boot is the main reason Danner has a bad rap. Usually when people complain about Danners its the pronghorn they are speaking about. Again sorry about my confusion about which Lowas you memeant. I have heard many times compare how much better their pair of Kennetrek mountain extremes are or their Lowa Sheep Hunters are compared to the pronghorn or how their pronghorns didn't hold up on their 2 week Dall sheep hunt. So I misunderstood and thought you were one of them

I got a pair of ASHQUAK's old work Danners just before the Thanksgiving snow storm haven't had a problem yet and in the snow the only part of me that stayed warm was my feet!

Well must say...I was 1 of the folks that jumped in there and said they were junk..
They are,That hasnt changed..
I am glad they hooked you up.

BUT!!!
They are a huge waste of money and a large pile of Chit
They will never get a single penny of My money.
P.S My soles also fell off after about the 6th outting out.
