Blacktail bucks from the South Sound area.
« on: April 19, 2008, 02:30:52 PM »
So Bucklucky's blacktail post got me drooling for some BT action and since the season is about 6 months out I went through some old pics.

The first one is the only one I have posted before. The rest are all new. I had to take pic of pics from my photo album.

Most of you have seen this first one. It is the last time my father and I both shot deer on the same day. We were hunting different areas and met back at the house with our critters. It had been along time since we both shot deer in the same day.

The time before that I can remember was many (like14 or 15) years ago. Again, both of us hunted different areas with different people. He killed his in the morning and I in the evening.

Edit: My crop job was too small and the image is not worth showing. It is a 3pt about 18 inches wide. I will try to fixit later.

Here is a good buck I killed on the first Monday of the general season. In a 5 year period I killed 4 bucks on the first Monday and all were 3 pt or better. I really think that after the weekend pressure that Monday is not hit so hard.

Here is a great buck that my father killed many years ago. It was a big bodied blacktail that really pushed the scale, but I don't think we want a weight debate. :chuckle: I really wish these ones turned out better but the original photos are sun faded and grainy.

That blacky to the right in the last pic is classic blacktail, great looking bucks Billy.

PS: nice metal work on the exposed beams.

Thanks. Those two bucks were killed about 1/4 mile from each other many years apart. They were at about 130 ft elevation. Basically sea level.

The metal work came with the building..lol  It was built in the 1940's I believe.
