Is it being frozen good or bad for hunting? I have yet to duck hunt on the east side.

it being frozen means youre not going to hunt the potholes unless you want to hunt on some ice.

don't give up when potholes is froze, we strap on ice skates and skate to our blind. Goose shells on the ice limits ducks and geese. Pull them on a sled back.

Ducks coming into corn stubble fields in the afternoons, need permission, but the good ole wdfw is paying $15.00 per acre for public hunting , and supposed to have a map of cornfields that are open to public hunting, might check wdfw web.  :twocents:

Not sure they are doing thaat this year still. Talked to a worker at the Ehprata office and she said with budget cuts they may not be able to afford it this year.

New to this so please excuse the ignorance, but was wondering if shells on the ice would really work?  Thought about trying it on Moses but convinced myself it would be crazy.....am I wrong?  The ducks and geese sure are flying low over the ice but not quite low enough to shoot....will the shells bring them down even if there is no open water?

Is this true? I have numerous fields getting hit hard right now by thousands of ducks. They haven't been coming in til after hours, but this cold snap should push them in earlier.

Yes it is true atleast last year it was. Not sure if it got squeezed into the budget this year or not though.
