I'm with you bone.  I'll hunt them when I draw the New Mexico archery tag.  If you happen to draw for bow, then let me know....I've got a lead on a guy that lives there and wants to trade ibex scouting for elk hunting info.  Can't beat that: local knowledge and hands-on scouting for a bit of time on maps and some info about our local hunting that we know.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

I have drawn the new mexico ibex archery.  You dont need a guide or scounting help.  You need to be able to shoot out to 100 yards, in the best shape of yous life, have a great pair of boots and be invisible to the ibex.   The most challenging bow hunt on the planet.  Should be a good year to draw due to the extra seasons.

You can hunt Ibex in Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Spain, Mexico, Hawaii and a few other places. Depends were you really want to go, cost and feel safe. I personally have no problem with any of those countries feeling safe and have been to a few. But Hawaii might a good alternate if you wan to also include a vacation for the wife and kids or be able to bring back the meat and taxidermy.
