Snow birds

MuleySniper and I wacked a few birds on our quick trip. There was 3 feet of friggin snow where we normally go. We had to hike on 2 feet of crusted over snow to get back to these two. We only had a few days and we knew it was going to be a rough turkey hunt with all the snow. We decided not to be to picky about what to shoot. That was probably the hardest I have ever had to work for a pair of birds. It was a great time though.

Great pics! What was your elevation? Gives me hope for a good late season.

We killed em at about 4000 feet. Normally hunt at 4200-4400.

We are fighting the snow also but we are stil getting them. They are still flocked up bad and were are averaging about 8-10 miles of hiking to find one that wants to work. I moved some of our hunters to May hoping the snow will be mostly gone by then. If you have a choise don't go out untill May!!

Few from adjoining property last week. These bids are grain fed and hang tight to the feeder, unlike the two we worked for. I wish the one gobbling didnt have a fence right in the way. It would have made a cool shot.

sweet pics. I do not know how you do that with turkeys. I never have enough time to pull out the camera.
