God I'm a GEEK!!!!
« on: January 06, 2011, 12:38:16 PM »
So I went upstairs to straighten up our spare room and ended up making it more of a mess! Being self employed can be boring sometimes and you have to find ways to entertain yourself.   :)

I have only gone out a few times a year the last several years so most of these are my keepers from years past.  About 4 or 5 years ago I sold off the rest.

Listen you guys...

You need to stop hanging those things up and laying them out like they are matched sets.   :nono:

Everyone KNOWS that matched sets don't exist...  And I am not just saying that because I have never found a matched set.  I KNOW they don't exist.

So, cut it out.  You are just making people feel bad about their shed hunting abilities... :chuckle: :chuckle:

That is a real challenge with as stupid competitive it has got  :bash: I have to admit I haven't done it when I was young but I have found that it helps curb the withdrawls being able to hunt something just never thought they would be so hard to find 3 years doing it (not as much as some) one whitey 4 point and that' it  :bash: I called around last year to see if there was some land that I could go on around the in laws land in the blues and it was almost as bad as opening deer season the land owners were real weary and one of them had spent all spring chasing trespassers off! Now that's BAD!
But if you think it would be fun then I Will bring my blind fold, pack, and optics and go man go  ;)

This year it seems like Im only finding matched sets! I have 16 freshies in the bag, and of those 6 are matched sets. I never usually do that good on sets, but I hope my luck continues. Stay persistant, they do exist. Good luck.

That would be fun. But I've spent a decade dialing in my gathering skills... I bet I know of some general areas that I would take a stranger for a day. They are going to have to be in damn good shape... It is alot safer and more fun if you have some company.

I did, the right antler scored 174 7/8 and the left scored 170 5/8 so whatever people use as a spread....i think its around a 384 or close to that.

my dad use to shed hunt like you guys. He's got a crap ton of mulie sheds. Some dandys as well. He quit going and started going fishing more when I came around. He finds around 10 or 15 a year now is all. The sheds are in storage or I'd get a pic of them all and post it. I know some great spots to shed hunt but the brush is just so thick. You'd have to step on them to find them.
