Reccomendations on good chest waders

I like the 3mm cabelas neoprenes, just the standard cheap ones. Had them for about a year now, and they are great, I have hunted around 40 days in them probably. I like the 3mm because we hike long distances some times to set dekes and 5mm seemed too thick. I have never gotten cold in them either, last novermeber we had a day when it was -11 at shooting time, those waders keep the cold out. Also I like the way they fit me, not baggy, just slightly snug. I got a size 9 and they fit my foot well, with just a little extra space. So I would get the same size as the shoe you would normally wear.

I got the brushbusters for xmas 2 years ago, didnt fit me worth a damn, looked like santa claus and they were terribly uncomfortable too me .

ive been wearing them for a few years now and they are great for the price. ive ripped 2 pairs on barbed wire now, i just bring them up to cabelas and tell them they leak and they do an exchange, no other questions asked.

if you haven't returned a pair in a while, you'll be in for a shock if you try to use the "satisfaction guaranteed" lifetime warranty.  it's only good if you've got the receipt, and only good for something like 1 year on waders now.  i wouldn't spend the cash on their expensive offerings any more, because they don't really stand behind the product like they used to.

i've got a pair of drake LSTs, and really like them.  the shoulder straps must have been designed by someone dyslexic, because they loop under themselves and secure from underneath instead of over the top like most.  however you'd have to be insane to pay full price, i got them for around $100 new in the cabelas bargain cave

Anybody that would try to return a pair of waders after using them for a year ought to be laughed right out of the store if ya ask me. If you owned them longer than that and tried to return them, they shouldn't even let you in the store. You ought to know whether or not you're satisfied with them when you walk out of the store or at least after your first use of them. Not after you've worn them out! Give me a break. LMAO

I got a pair of LST drake for this year, so far so good. Had a pair of cabelas super mag. for the last three seasons but they started to leak, mostly due to hiking through thick brush. I tried on a pair of brushbusters they didnt fit, size 12 will fit if your 250+.

I used a pair of the waterproof/breathable waders for about 3 years and really liked em. No sweating underneath them. Always warm and dry. Ya gotta dress warm enough under them  for the weather.
I've been wearing a pair of the Cabelas Ultimate Waders now for 3 years and really like them. 5mm neoprene. Darn warm and comfortable. I really like the velcro shoulder straps. No buckles. That means no buckles under my recoil pad when I'm trying to shoot. They are darn warm though and you do sweat underneath unless it's cold out.
My next pair might be the neoprene type with a zipper. Coffee drinker. It sucks having to get undressed just to take a leak. Especially if it's raining.
All the years prior, I wore hip boots.

Thank you! Totally agree. Alot of jerks using waders for a year and exchanging them every season. I would tell you to pound sand. Scum also used to pick up worn stuff at garage sales and take them to cabelas for an exchange. Cabelas has a great reputation. A legitimate change in their return policy is not going to dissuade me from shopping there....

Get the ones with the boots attached.  3mm - 5mm.  I use the 3mm for walking or when it's not to cold.   When I am in the boat I use the 5mm with 1600 boots.  Your not moving much and they keep you warm.  Early season I wear my Cabela's camo breathable boot ones.  If you pick up two pairs you will be covered.  I think I am up to 5 sets currently.

There is arguments on to which is better non insulated waders with insulated boots, layered up underneath them with 3 pairs of long johns. Or my persnal favorite Cabelas supermag 1600 chest waders. Ive been out on days when it was -4 and days when its 35, these hands down are the most comfortable and well put together waders. Never... get to cold. There having a waterfowl sale on cabelas Right before the season ends. You should Definetly take a look, Good luck with you're hunt!
