Smoked Babyback Ribs in a......
« on: December 24, 2010, 07:11:20 PM »
Crockpot.  We had these for dinner tonight.  It was the 3rd time my wife fixed them.  When she first told me that she was going to make smoked ribs in a crock pot I thought she totally lost it. :chuckle:  After I got done laughing at her, she said just wait until you taste them.  I must say, they are some of the best ribs I have ever tasted.  They fall right off the bone when you pick them up and melt in your mouth.  She makes some sort of sauce and pours the sauce over the ribs and let it slow cook all day long.  So if your short on time and want some ribs that taste like you smoked them all day, give this a try, you won't be disappointed.  I took some pic's today to give you an idea.  Merry Christmas everyone!  John

This is a pic of the ribs and sauce ready for slow cook.

Ready for the plate.

Ready for the mouth

Boss .300 winmag, I sent you an e-mail this AM with the receipe.  Here it is for everyone who is interested.  Sorry I forgot to post the receipe when I posted, but must of had a brain fart.  Enjoy everone.  John

LAZY MAN’S RIBS IN CROCKPOT

2 ½ pounds or more baby back ribs cut into 8 pieces. (about 3-4 ribs to a piece)
2    Teaspoons Cajun Seasoning (or more if you like it hotter)
        1     Medium Onion, sliced
        1  Cup Ketchup
½  cup packed brown sugar

1/3  cup orange juice

1/3  cup cider vinegar

1/4 cup molasses
      2  tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
      1  tablespoon barbecue sauce
      1 teaspoon stone-ground mustard
1 teaspoon paprika (or more depending on taste)
   1/2  teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke, optional, but recommended
   Dash of Salt

1)   Rub ribs with Cajun seasoning.  Layer ribs and onion in a 5 qt. slow cooker.
2)   In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, orange juice, vinegar, molasses, paprika, garlic powder, Liquid Smoke, and salt.  Mix and pour over ribs.  Cover and cook on low for at least 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 hours or until meat is tender and falling off bones.
3)   Take ribs out and enjoy with your favorite side dish.  These ribs if done right will fall off the bones and melt in your mouth.  Enjoy!

Wow those are good, just might have used a little to much cajun seasoning. Oh well more for the guys tonight while watching UFC.
