:)    Good Morning Michelle, just to set the record straight.............When I arrived in Seattle in 1970 I went to work for Jonas Brothers of Seattle (owned by the Klineburger Brothers (Bert, Gene and Chris), they then changed their name to Klineburger Brothers in the late 70's........then closed the business in the late 1990's.   They use to be the worlds largest taxidermy firm, they had over 15 master taxidermists working at the time I started...it was unbeliveable the amount of work that was produced there.

There is also a present day Jonas Brothers of New York and also a Jonas Brother of Denver :).

BUZZI COOK

Hey Buzzi,

I agree there use to be a Jonas Brothers in Seattle.  You told me a while back that you use to work for them.  I knew they were no longer in WA though.  I was giving a few examples of some of the info that was outdated on the link HEADSHOT provided before he changed his post.

Bearpaw I can't se how anything you said could be taken as offensive?

My favorite taxidermist is Mr. Rick Krane, one of the top 5 in the world for fish taxidermy. And I can't wait to attend his school in May!!!!!!!

Lots of great ones out there, it is great to see Buzzi on here, his work is outstanding.  Charlie does awesome work as well, those are the two that I have experience with.  A great taxidermist makes an animal come back to life and both these guys do that very well.

THANKS to everyone for the welcome........I certainlly appreciate it.

The BIG POLAR BEAR that was standing in the entry way belongs to ART DUBBS of Grants Pass, Oregon.   It still is the largest Polar Bear(body wise that is)  that I know of.  I think it stood 12 feet at the top of the head.

When you guys start talking of going to Jonas Brothers when you were kids it makes me feel much older than I am, a lot of great memories of that place.

One thing to point out is that there are many in the Taxidermy field that do great work, some not as good, but of the better ones, there are many that are specialists regarding certain animals. Fish reproductions.. Birds, to differentiate that some are better with Turkeys or Ducks than they are with Pheasants. I mentioned Bruce up here in the Northern Interior, and as he is known for his great African mounts, he is excellent with all Deer species and does damn nice Bear and Cougar rugs. But he doesn't do birds or fish. Bruce is very personable and enjoys casual conversation while he works. Just drop in nearly any time.

I think that to list one's 'favorite' single taxidermist, would be an injustice to many of them that have developed specialty skills.

I've never done any business with Garth Gilden of Fidalgo Taxidermy but I've seen his work, from Moufalon to Coastal Brown Bear, to Blacktail. What he lets out the door is top notch.  He may be one of the most expensive in the NW though.

One of my favorites who amazes me everytime I see his work is Mike Vernelson.  One of the best bird guy's around.  Nancy Crocker is right up there as well.  I don't think I have ever met you Buzzi, but after seeing all these comments, I sure would like to have the pleasure to meet you.  Welcome to the site.  John

Luke Filmer is the owner/taxi at Blackwater. He does the best fish IMO.

Hmmm. We must be thinking different Blackwater fish guys. This is Lukes site. He used to go by Blackwater Trading. Now he just goes by Blackwater. My dad and myself both have work done by him. Family friend too.

There you go Joe, I didnt think I had it right. Dave Campbell.

He does an awesome job, was going to buy a salmon blank from him but he sold all his molds, only has the steelhead left.

And don't under estimate Jeff Lumsden, he has won best in world under masters division I think twice, I know for sure once. He is in Everett
