we had a freind of mine pack us in on mules and then it was a diy from there. we hunted spot and stock.

Those are some great coues!  I am from tucson and have hunted the tasty little boogers my whole life.  My biggest grosses about 100.  Planning on going back after them after three years next january.  Any coues is a trophy, let alone with a bow.  Congrats guys.

Btw, what unit were you hunting if you dont mind me asking?

I hunted 33 and 32 my whole life  My biggest is out of 33.  I normally stick around redington.  Lot a people there but, I know how to get away from them.

These are my two biggest to date.  The one on the left is out of 32 and the one on the right is from 33.

very nice coues!! I just moved to Everett from Gilbert Arizona a few weeks ago... so I also know how hard it is to get a nice coues whitetail.
I took this velvet muley in the 2010 Aug otc archery... I wanted to hold out for one of the nice coues i had on cam, but couldnt let him walk by me...

as a new WA hunter I could use some direction for my scouting... I can help anyone that wants to do some AZ hunting... I have a 2011 AZ deer, javelina, and turkey tag still, but I think I'm going to focus my scouting in WA...

Dandy buck, EAS!  Do you generally archery hunt or rifle?  Your picture obviously indicated archery, but just curious about what you plan on doing in WA.

I like to hunt both archery and rifle... in az if you dont get drawn for general rifle hunts, your stuck with over the counter archery only tags... which I've also grown to love. I spent many years in an area thats very promissing... food plot and licks tended to monthly... just started poping this last year then i went and moved 

In AZ, the rut starts in December for most units... and I believe they got a big cold front 2-3 weeks ago that should have sent them right into rut!! to bad i was on the road with a moving truck

Ah, with deer you're not stuck with an area but you are stuck with the weapon you choose (archery, rifle, muzzleloader) unless you put in for, and draw, the multi-season tag.  This will allow you to hunt with all of the weapons during their respective seasons.  So, you can hunt with a rifle during rifle season, bow during archery, etc.  But you can't hunt with a rifle during archery season.

With elk it's the same, but you have to choose eastside/westside, so you're stuck with an area but it's half the state.  Unless you draw the multi-season tag and then you can hunt the whole state - again, during the hunting seasons for each of the weapons.

I always put in for the multi-season tags but they're expensive.  I think that they're $180 each if you draw now.  That would get prohibitely expensive if you don't become a WA resident, I think.  You might want to put in for the moose, sheep and goat tags in WA, though.

Beautiful Coues.  I have hunted coues for many years in Chihuahua, Mexico, and in AZ.  That four point is a great deer.  But I also agree with a previous post that "any coues is a trophy."  They are called the grey ghosts for a reason, they are a very challenging hunt, much more in my opinion than mule deer and larger whitetail deer.  The bows look large because coues are so small.  a good un-gutted buck will top out at 115 pounds.
