My dad's first moose
« on: January 16, 2011, 08:09:53 PM »
They started a new moose hunting district that takes up about 1/4 of the state. It is mostly grass lands. This was the third year and my dad drew one of the two tags. We hunted 9 days, saw 16 moose. As you can see he dropped it out in the prairie. Yes we got him loaded whole in the pickup.

That is awesome. I think there are more moose in MT and WY than I ever thought. My buddy lives in Gillette, WY and said that he say 10 times more moose last year than elk during his elk season. Every time he heard something in the woods he thought it was an elk and it turned out to be a bullwinkle! Kinda funny to me. Good to hear that they are doing well in those states though. I've only seen them in WA. Haven't spent enough time out of state to see them otherwise.
