Wise Guy Update:

The kind folks at Spot Hogg responded immediately to my criticisms of the Wise Guy release by offering a replacement buckle strap for evaluation. They also offered to refund my purchase price. I elected to try the new buckle strap and in short order, the new strap appeared in my mail box, “No Charge”.

The strap was easy to install (one socket head cap screw) and inspection led me to believe the strap had been made by a custom leather manufacturer. The new leather strap is generously wide at all the load bearing surfaces and is lined with a soft backing material. Distribution of forces across the wrist and behind the thumb base was obviously carefully considered in the new design to promote ergonomic comfort. The nylon web material attaching the triangular steel “ring” to the strap is double stitched at every location and appears able to withstand a lifetime of use and weather. Not only is the strap well thought out and perfectly executed, it is long enough to wear outside of shooting gloves both light, medium and heavy.

Needless to say, I am very impressed with Spot Hogg’s customer service, attention to detail and response to customer input!

Another advantage the Wise Guy boasts is a short trigger to D-loop distance. The Wise Guy is a full seven eights (7/8) of an inch shorter than my previously “standard” TruFire 360 Elite. Those interested in maximum arrow velocity will no doubt sit up and pay attention here. Nine to ten feet per second will make a significant difference to those folks, considering no changes would have to be made in arrow combination or draw weight.

The above details, combined with a virtually silent, completely creep free, crisp, adjustable, light trigger make Spot Hogg’s Wise Guy an excellent buy for ether target or hunting shooter.

Once again, great customer service, design and execution from a truly American company!

Thank you,
Konrad
“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter can not be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.”

I have also had great luck with their customer service.  I had a sight break (my fault) and had them do a pin swap.
