Nissan 9.8 2 stroke
« on: January 18, 2011, 12:34:12 PM »
I am getting ready to put my kicker on the market and wondering what a fair price would be. There are less than 20 hours on this thing.I am guessing its an early 2000 or late 90's model. Dont really want to get rid of it but my new Thunder Jet has a quick connect for a 4 stroke. So I need to up grade..... there is always something. I am curious on what someone would pay. Craigslist has newer ones and older ones, but none I can compare to. Thanks

I would guess between $450 and $600, it has low hours but ran in saltwater, also not one of the major brands so thats my guess !!

Good Luck I have an 8hp Honda I'm about to off load too !!!

Good motor, might not be a major name brand but buddy has one that NEVER had a problem, he pushed his Zodiac way to far out for Halibut all the time with a 15 Nissan...

I didn't say he was smart - he just never had any problems with it....

Put it on for $600 and see what happens. I think it is worth the 600 from the looks of it.  :twocents:

I am going to be looking for a new kicker in the next few weeks but havent even started to look yet. What part of town are you in? Will you take $400 for it? If you are close by and would take 4 I would probably buy it from you if its a good runner and looks as good as the pics show.
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!

FYi take the quick connect off and toss it in the garbage. They are famous for letting air into the fuel lines. I nearly went nuts before I figured it out. my kicker kept running out of gas and when I asked my mechanic why he asked me if I had one and if so to get rid of it. Problem solved!
One other word of advice. don't buy a mercury. Unless you want to buy mine. I would like to sell it and buy a Yami.

My brother had one for a few years that was real good.  He had to sell it before moving awhile back but had no problems with it at all.
