Cle Elum area
« on: April 23, 2008, 08:22:12 AM »
I didn't go out last weekend for the Opener but we did go 2 weeks earlier for the youth hunt. Has the snow melted anymore? It was crappy for the youth hunt 3 weeks ago. Thinking about going out this weekend

Yea,  I got my bird last week. I got lucky , i have only heard 3 gobbles and been out 3 times. It should be great once they start talking.

I have some private ground back there in cle elum where a bunch of birds live on and noone else hunts it, 5-6 really big Toms.  Hopefully they are still talking the second week in May when i'll be back in town.

Actually Cougeyes, from one Coug to another, (1986alum...  ;) ) wouldn't you rather have a youth score his first bird on that private land?    My son and I would love to help you manage that flock. GO COUGS!!!

I would love to take a youth out, but its hard enough to get the ok from my grandpa whose property it is to let his favorite grandson hunt.  He's like just open the sliding glass door and shoot one.  I would never do that, i told him if i have the chance to hunt those birds then i'm going as far away from the house and trying to call them in.  They are still wild, but he feeds them every so often.
