Is this a different strain from central asia or a hybrid, I see some gray partridge traits.
Also, I see cracked corn, are you able to balance your diets with local stuff?  Many things available and the feed store prices are steep.

Its a Barbary Chukar (A.barbara).  They are from North Africa versus the Pakistan area where our Normal Chuckar resides.

I feed a mixed diet.  Their big treat is a shot of cracked corn.  Good energy for winter.  I don't think they are as tough as our Chukar, but their call is essentially the same.  They are a tad bit smaller.

VERY COOL! Where did you get it? My bro-inlaw has some un used pheasant pens we want to fill up... Have to find the holes tho... I got some quail for him and in 24 hrs they got out!  :bash: holes must be pretty small...
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Doesn't take much for a quail to get in or out of your pens.   I got him out of the midwest.  I should have hatching eggs this year.  I won't have any adults.

I'll try to get some pics with their "hood" up.   That center stripe raises up when they are on alert.
