i am seeking a left handed deer rifle and need help in going to places on the internet to find one. thanks for watching. mike w

Lever actions are your friend! my cousin Left handed has a 06 lever browning i believe... If you want a LH bolt realize that your choices will be limited and you may need to order it up...Kesslerings gun shop N ov Burlington on old Hwy 99 has lots o guns..

unfortunately most makers only make certain calibers in lefty, gunbroker.com, auction arms, or find out what you like have it ordered.

sorry. a lefthander is a lefthanded rifle with the bolt on the left side. i am from othello so bellingham is a bit from here. my situation is i was a righty or and i had a stroke and am now with 30%sight in my right eye. my brain switched my dominant eye to left. all 4 guns are rightys. i think i will order a lefty in 260 rem in a month or so. mike w

I just looked on the Remington website. I didn't see 260 rem listed as an option. From the looks of things the calibers Remington offers are the popular ones, 243, 270 7mm-08, 06 etc. Savage has quite a few listed on their website too. Once again no offerings in 260 rem. Winchester says the Model 70 is available in LH but I couldn't find any more info.

Remington, Savage and Ruger offer left side bolt action rifles. The problem is your cartridge choice. You might find a legacy rifle out there in 260rem, but as that's not a 'popular' cartridge, then you might have to settle for 243, 25-06 or 270... or something more main stream. (don't get me wrong, the 260 is a great round) Savage will be the easiest to work with if you want a chambering that they don't currently offer if you're willing to order one. What you could do is buy a used lefty Savage, then have a gunsmith install a custom barrel in your chambering choice. I say Savage, because it is litterally the easiest one to change a barrel on.

Since there is no balistic advantage for a 260rem over a 243win, you would most suredly have better luck finding a lefty 243win on the shelf at any major gun store. Ranch and Home, oh.. There's another sports store in Kennewick.. Must be something in Spokane. Call the gun counter at ACE hardware in Chelan to see what they have. Wallmart in Winatchee? Wallmart in Ephrata? I dunno where there might be other gun shops on the east side.

You could go with a single shot Thompson Center. Doesn't need to be an Encore. Just get an older/used one and order a barrel from one of many aftermarket manufactures. I kinda look at them as being quite ambidextrious.

Tikka also makes left-hand rifles, I've got my eye on a 7mm-08 T3 lite. I've always shot a rifle left handed but have never owned a left handed one.

If you really want one in 260 rem I would call up savage and see what they can do for you. I just read an article in shooting times about savage making 'custom' order rifles. Although they arent fancy, they can make one to the speciifications that you want.

I have a Rem 700 chambered in .270win that is LH.

I heard Tikka also makes a LH rifle but cannot verify, could just be a rumor....

Savage has been doing this for years for competitive shooters. And doing it quite well..

Right hand bolt, left side feed single shot.. I've seen left hand bolt, right side feed. You want it.. They'll do it.

I found my left handed Savage 110 7mm rifle at a Pawn shop. Did alot of calling and driving around but worth it in the end.

My wife just bought me a lefthanded Remington 870 12g Shotgun for X-Mas. She found it at Kesselrings.

:)My sons are left handed they shoot: a left handed Remington 30/06 model 700, a Ruger lamintated stock stainless 300 WM model 77, and a Tikka T3 laminated 22-250, one each for each boy, If you look you can find lots of lefty guns. Both shoot right handed 870 rem. pumps, and right handed 10/22's.

Sounds like you need to have a rifle built.. Its only a few dollars more in the scheme of things and the accuracy again is absolute. Shop around and if you have a Little more change to spare i would call Rick Freudenberg in Everett He makes some of the most accurate guns in the nation.

If you do decide to have one built might I suggest you try http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/ Kevin is a great knowledgable guy. He's a Savage guy but will build anything. He might even have a lefty action there he can sell you or just buy a cheap used one and have him change the bolt head and barrel to whatever you want. He sells Benchmark barrels too, I hear they are pretty good. All in all I'll bet a custom one through Savage will be close to what a custom one would be.

You must have shot an old A1 at some point! All the later receivers have a cast in shell deflector now, the A1 I qualified with in basic burned me pretty good, I had at least 5 cases stuck to my face afterward. They kept catching in my pile-cap and burning the hell out of my right cheek and my neck.

thanks guys for the replies and info i enjoyed the expertise and learned some good info but the search is over. i won a gun at the rmef banquet on the hat raffle. will trade the ruger 7 mm in for a lighter rifle of my choice. should have bought a lotto ticket but the guys i rode with were pissed. mike w
