Back when you could keep more than a few per day. A few shrimp. A few clams. This was 1977 or there abouts.

I keep this photo of dad in the visor of my truck and say hi 'pops' quite often.

That fish was caught back in the early eighties and if I remember right it was over 90.  Big kings really dont fight all that much.  I always liken it to pulling in a 5 gallon bucket full of water

That my friend if caught in this state would have blown away the record by 20 lbs.  Never the less great incredible fish for sure... I have to argue about big kings fighting, they are so powerful at that size it is amazing.  I have caught numerous in the 60 class and been on the boat for 70 class.  Now if your catching them in their beds when they have turned then I would agree, but a fish that size is not brought to the boat without alot of assistance and skillful cranking and having a extremely good drag.

Caught in Alaska, my father in law has been guiding up there for many years now.  The big ones I've caught. 50+, ya they have a lot of power, but IMHO, fight nothing like a Silver or a big Steelie.  Remember, I said IMHO   :)
