Pink bows kill turkeys too.. :chuckle:

And all this time I thought it was the arrow that killed the animal  :dunno:. Guess I will buy one of them pink bows now. Do you throw the bow at them, or am I doing something else wrong  :bash::chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Cool pics.

NO, don't throw it! its more of a hammering motion.
It is a little known fact that if you get turkeys in thick enough brush they cant take flight. I for one can outrun a turkey, so in thick brush it is GAME OVER! :chuckle:

My hunting partner, the first year he wen turkey hunting with us shot one and had to chase it down. I think he was planning on the hammering motion but even though flight was not possible, it was out running him til he put another round in it. He came in that night with a great story and a bird missing a lot of feathers :chuckle:.

What you really have to do is go for the full out open field tackle and really wrap them up so you don't come up with a handful of feathers ;) just make sure you tuck the wings or they will beat the everloving crap out of you  ;)

Hey..  I resemble this comment..  Yes the hammer motion was the thought but after running for a hundred yards and not gaining on him and getting closer to the edge of the property, I let him have another.  Not positive but I think a Turkey's top running speed is around 20-22 mph so if someone can run an un-wounded bird down they are a fast SOB.  :chuckle:

Not a great pic but here he is.  My first and still most memorable bird.  Can't wait to get out there this year.  36 days but who's counting right???

A little bit from all over our area here I guess..
We hunt them some up by my parents but they dont get the flock numbers up that high that they do in the low lands.
