Anyone shoot a 6.5x55? I have a Ruger MK II and would like to get 2700-2800 FPS out of it. Anyone got any secret reloads they would like to share?

Thanks,
bobcat, 140's
catwithboost, I have seen this before and was actually hoping for some personal reloads and tips.
I would like to use this as an all around gun (deer/elk) what are your thoughts?

Good cartridge with only about 100 yrs of load development behind it.
There is a ton of info.
Try

for a start.
Good sectional density and moderate recoil.
No personal experience to offer.

My wife shoot a 6.5x55 and she loves it. I was going to handload for it but it shoot Federal silver box factory loads so well, I didn't figure things would be any better, so I have her continue to shoots the factory loads.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
