choke tube stuck in my 11-87

i was going to switch choke tubes in my remington 11-87 for skeet i went to lossen the tube in it and it wasnt coming loose at all what do i do to get it free and out of the barrel.

Are you using a wrench that came with it?  I always use a quarter, when it gets stuck I use a combination of said quarter plus channel locks.

Good Luck--Depending on how long it's been in there, it might not come out.  try some penetrating oil and let it set overnight.  When changing chokes, ALWAYS put some anti-seize compound on the threads and tube surfaces.  Beats the heck out of having to buy a new barrel.

try spray on  oil, penetrating oils, might work,  then try just buying a quart of good oil and stick the barrel in it, the choke end, and let it soak, use a proper choke wrench. be patient, it will work.

If you try Bofire's soak method, use Marvel Mystery Oil.  That stuff is amazing.  I've used it to lubricate sealed router guide bearings and it goes around the seals like they're not even there!

That's what I used, and it worked.
Run the Kroil from the breach end of the barrel, so it contacts the threads.
Also, buy a real choke tube wrench, that has 4 nubs for properly getting on the tube.
Might also try to heat the barrel, using a heatgun, not a torch...expansion of the barrel might help.

You can try putting the end of the barrel in hot tap water,  let it cool then try to loosen it with the proper wrench.  This has worked with stuck breech plugs on an inline muzzle loader.  The expansion of the metal with heat will loosen the threads.

I got my choke tube out this year with it.
I cut off 2 of the ears on my choke tube wrench. I used a 3/8 drive wratchet, tapped on it with the ballpeen, and wa-la, choke tube freed up.

soak wd40 over night and use a choke wrench. if you go this route use hoppes or some sort of cleaning solvent to get the wd residue off and then re-oil the outside of the barrel.  when you put the other tube in apply some sort of shooting grease, i prefer STOS, to the threads and the smooth part of the tube this will help prevent this from happening again, and dont over tighten the tube when putting it in, it should be snug but not as tight as you can humanly get it

My buddy had a choke tube stuck in his benelli, I saw this thread and went out and bought some Kroil. Soaked it for two hours and it came right out, no problem. Thanks guys!

I would get some Jet Lube Nikal Anti-seize for coating the choke tube before screwing it back in.  Great stuff.
