I usually jump spot to spot. I try every year to sit in one spot all day but i get bored easily. Figure why sit here all day if i walk over there maybe somethings bedded. Or i might find a few missed sheds while moving.

Why is there no "Spot & Stalk" option? Or a "Still Hunt" option? The choices appear to be mostly road hunter options unless you hike to a tree stand.

When bow hunting I get in my treestand at least an hour before daylight and stay until about 9:30-10:00, then still hunt until around 1:30-2:00 and it is back into the treestand until it is too dark to see my feet.  My honey hole is about an hour to  1 1/2 hour hike in depnding on snow and half the night to drag something out due to the thick brush.

We usually find us a spot to be sitting when daylight hits and stay there for a few hours. Then I will slowly hike around a bit to see if I can scare something up. There are days when we will move from one spot to the other in a vehicle and happen to run in to some deer. I'm not afraid to say I've shot a couple of deer doing that. But there is nothing like sitting in a nice spot where you can glass a hillside at daybreak. Nothing in the world like it.

well said, as i have also waited in a spot till daylight many a time, and shivered so hard that it made my back ache :chuckle:and thats with all the new gear and such, its only fitting that we suffer a bit to play the game, i would have it no other way

I prefer to hike in the dark for an hour or so to an area that looked nice to me prior to the season. I let the land dictate where I go when it gets light out. I like to sit and glass a nice area then go get a different view of the same area. If nothing hits my eye I move on. I'm what you call an A.D.D. hunter.

i do the same thing, except i dont hike anymore i now have a spot way the hell in gone in there where i have a camp set up, that way i can sleep a little longer and can still get up have a hot cup of coffee or a diet coke, and i will wait till day light and then just see where the day takes me.

LOL, no, attention deficit disorder. The deer I try to hunt are usually to smart for me.

that would fall under the " hunt one spot daylight to dark" option
