I just picked up a batch of miscellaneous .45 auto brass. While cleaning the primer pockets I noticed that the pockets on the blazer brass are smaller than the other brands of brass. Do they take a different size primer than say federal or winchester brass?

I have talk to a few people and apparently there is going to be a switch by several manufactures to small pistol primers on 45auto something about more cost effective and no need for the large pistol primer in the casing.
"Shoot the spike".  It's much easier to pack out!

Most reloaders stay away from the small primer pocket brass. I have thousands of rounds of large pocket brass and would hate to have a few hundred small ones get mixed in. =havock for those of us with progressive presses. You may notice that none of the top brands went that route? The small pockets have been around for a few years. Most people stay away from Blazer, Starline and cmc... such brands with thin brass, non uniform primer pockets and egged bases.

I'm not saying that what you have is junk, but I hope you didn't pay top dollar for it.
