GSG 1911 .22 LR

I just picked one of these up. Can't believe the quality, German made. Hope to shoot it soon, there are some good wright up's on the net. best .22 LR 1911 I've seen. ;)

Thats a nice looking pistol on the website, did you get the "standard" or the "wood" model?  What did it run ya if you don't mind me asking?

PA BEN, I've had my eye on one of those pistols for a while, let us know how it shoots!

h2ohunter, how does that little carbine shoot? I've heard good and bad about them but the only time I've been in the vicinity of one the guy was burning through ammo as fast as he could load magazines.

FWIW, he was running Federal from a Wally World bulk pack through his.

I have had many pistols over the years. In the .22lr category, I''ve had the Beretta Neos, Sig Mosquito, Walther p22, and the Ruger 22/45 MK III. This gun is by far the sexiest, best built, and one of the most accurate I''ve used. This gun rivals the MK III and the Buck Mark (brother-in-laws has one) in accuracy. My GSG-1911 has now replaced the above mentioned guns as my primary .22lr pistol. It is very well built, eats every cheap block ammo I throw at it, and feels like any other high quality 1911. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the magazines are pricey and hard to find. If you''re a fan of the .22lr pistol or the 1911, this is a must buy. Reviewer Location: OH The gun is very nice and shoots well. No jams or any problems except it shot too high. I had to put on the highest front sight to bring the group down. This was with federal bulk pack from wally world. Schwartz safety is a refinement? Extended beavertails?... OK, ambidextrious safeties are ok. Dovetails for replaceable sights are good. Lowered and dropped ejection ports are good. But external extractors? Flared mag wells? Double stacked frames?  A huge problem is the mas production of frames and slides that are not to the original specs so there's no consistency so parts don't interchange.

JMB would never have approved of MIM parts.
