For tying braid to swivels, duolocks, etc. I use the improved clinch knot and have never had it slip. I too run the braid through the eye of the swivel twice. For tying mono to braid, double uni knot is the only knot I use anymore.

I had always used the uni-knot to tie braid to mono or flourocarbon. Met a professional bass fisherman at the Sportsman's show that says that the "Albright" knot is the best for that.

I just bought a new rod and reel and put 50 pound braided backing on and about 20 or 30 yards of 20 pound flourocarbon and used that knot for the first time. Seems pretty tough and is a snap to do. It does come up as a fairly long knot though, when you use heavy line like I did.

For other knots, agree with the others, uni or palomar.

I like the Uni and Palomar, which neither one has ever failed.

Thanks everyone. I have learned a couple of great knots :IBCOOL: They will replace the others that I use for sure! I have had good luck with mine but they are not the best. It helps to know good knots when you are a licensed fishing guide right :chuckle:
