muskies in skagit/whatcom county?

A small amount of tiger's were planted in Fazon back in the '90's.  Not sure if they made it and if any still exist.

Ive heard the rumors to of tiger fish being caught there but have not met anyone who has actually caught one. They are also in squalicum lake off of Mt. Baker highway but its fly fishing only.

man that would be a kick !!  I would use a "Bunny Leach" or "Clouser Minnow", and probably get my a$$ handed to me, but wow!!

STKNSTRINGBOW, they have them right there by you in Mayfield Lake. It is a blast to catch them, biggest one so far has been 48inches. They changed the law a couple of years ago to 50 inch plus now.

I was just saying what a blast it would be on a fly-rod (actually pictured Fly-rod and a float-tube)
Unfortunately ever since my kids came along I dont get the time to do my own fishing any more, when taking them out, we gotta catch something (no more 1000 cast days)

Tapps you do have a better chance of catching one, but the jetskiers and waterskiers outweigh that option for me. They are a blast to catch on the fly rod. If you do try it, look at Dahlbergs fly selection. It is great. I agree not having all the time in the world now that kids have come along. I have been on mayfield and got 4 in one day and had about 10 other followers. So it can get pretty fun there also.

Twice we have hooked into tigers  while fishing 4lb test for trout on Mayfield. It makes for an intense minute or two before they snap off, lol. I never have got one close to the boat though.
Can scare the crap out of you when they first hit a ultra light pole trolling.

ive been tying up some obnoxious looking, along with some pretty standard clousers..... in the 1/0 to 6/0 size range for fishing the kelp beds with... once i get my dinghy i think ill head to squalicum lake!

i have heard rumor of muskies in some of the lakes in skagit/whatcom county... guess ive been watchin the outdoor channel too much but looks like fun. anybody fish for em or can anybody validate what lakes have them? thanks

I am going to fish fazon lake this week and I will let everyone know how we do but has anyone else fished it lately??

The WDFW only has 7 lakes in washington that they stock and manage. Silver Lk(cheney), Newman Lk, Cerlew Lk, Evergreen Res., Mayfield Lk, Merwin Res., and Lk Tapps. For alot of good info you should talk with sakoshooter, he works pretty closely with the wdfw on their tiger musky program.
