Beautiful gun, I wanted a Christensen arms barrell but ended up going with a Benchmark and absolutely love it.  I may build a 270 some day with a Christensen arms barrell.  Let us know how it shoots when you get it!!!

Not to get off topic but can someone fill me in on what is so special about the Christensen barrels? I am in no way an expert on metallurgy so I am trying to understand this. Isn't the barrel basically standard with a carbon fiber wrap? If that is the case why not order a barrel from another manufacturer and just wrap it yourself? Not being sarcastic in any way, just trying to understand what all the rave is about.

It is just another way to skin a cat. I,now prefer thin makers barrels to the christensen, but at one time I was all about the carbon.

Thats just too cool!!

I am doing my home work for a "mountain rifle".  I dont quite have as much to put in to it as you did but wouldnt mind that cal.  We will see.

Is there anything you could have done to lighten that up??  besides a smaller scope ?
I don’t give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way. "Mark Twain"

Bear Hunter Im a big fan of bench mark as well this was originally going to have one until my smith came across this barrel. I cant wait to shoot it hopefully on friday I will stop on my way back to work and shoot with my buddies.

Ghetto guide you could drop this guns weight down by a different stock and a different scope this stock is 2.6 lbs and the scope is 1.6 lbs there is some room to move down.  :chuckle:

I like the old BC carbelite stocks as they are as light as an edge, nearly as stiff and when you blow the bedding to hell from big guns, it does not feel like you just threw $500 in the wind.
