Non-Cotton Camo!!!
« on: February 07, 2011, 08:31:34 PM »
Okay so apparantly cotton is bad in the high country.  So here is my question.  I have been searching forever for a non-cotton set of camo 6-pocket pants and button up shirt that is in Realtree MAX-1 Camo.  I have so far failed.  The only place i have found Realtree Max-1 Camo is in Cabelas in their Bow-Hunters Silent Weave line of Camo. But.... its a poly/cotton blend.  Does anyone know of some websites or where I could find a non-cotton blend of camo in Realtree MAX-1?

Basically I know all camo pretty much works just as good as the other. Remaining motionless is the key, but Camron Hanes wears Realtree MAX-1 and it looks really cool.  So that's why I want it.  Plus it looks like it does work pretty good out west and would still work in a tree stand.  If no one can help me I guess I'll go with Realtree AP since apparantly that is the only pattern I can find in non-cotton stuff.  Thanks for any help.  I appreciate it.

Hey Pacific thanks for the tip.  It says the pants are wool.  Do you have those pants, and would they be too for a september elk hunt?

I don't have them yet Clockumelk, but I am thinking about it. They come in different weights so I think you could find something that would work early september. Eastmans gave the stuff a good review last year for whats that worth.

Rivers West has Realtree MAX-1, but its rain gear, probably to hot for Sept. fyi, I don't own it yet. I'll be going archery elk for the first time this year so I'm looking for the same application you are, please post your findings. Good luck.

WT I am gonna buckle down and get Cabelas Microtex. Its mad of 100% polyester. I bought some for the wife and its super tough, extremely soft and quiet. And after two seasons still look brand new. Ill get it in Realtree AP. They don't have alot at Cabelas until they restock this summer in preparation for hunting season. They also have microtex lite.

I checked out firstlite wool and one day I will buy that stuff.  But I have too much stuff I have to buy to be able to afford $159 pants.  All the reviews says this stuff is AWSOME and I WILL get it but this will not be the year.  Thanks for showing me that though.

if your serious about the firstlite keep an eye on camofire.com. i have bought the gila pants and the chamas shirt in the asat pattern and the underwear from them and love all of them, especially the shirt. you can save quite a bit of money this way, at least 50% or more.

I have some predator camo pants that are 100% polyester. Best pants I've ever owned hands down. I wear them a lot and after about 4 years they're just now starting to show wear. They're loose and light and they dry in a hurry.

Hey bluebulls where did you get the Predator Camo at in polyester.  It seems the only pattern that comes in Polyester anywhere is Realtree AP.

I found the Firstlite Gila pants at High Mountain outfitters for $99 on sale and free shipping. They should be here by Saturday also have the vest coming. I'll let you know how I like it when it arrives.
Shut up and Hunt!

Please do.  Let me know if the pants are too warm.  And also how soft they feel.  Also let me know how the pockets work.  But definately a review would be much appreciated.
