Got my vest and pants yesterday. Needless to say I'm a little disappointed, but I'll still give em a try. The vest is no heavier than a sweatshirt and the pants are super light material also. Both should be good for early season bowhunting but would not wear them past September. Both seem to be made well from a durability stand point but a little cheap on design. As far as fit goes I was told to order one size larger than I normally wear in pants. I normally wear a M so I ordered L, probably should have ordered XL as the L are still tight in the thigh. Thank god they wont shrink. Hope this helps the next guy!

WT I am gonna buckle down and get Cabelas Microtex. Its mad of 100% polyester. I bought some for the wife and its super tough, extremely soft and quiet. And after two seasons still look brand new. Ill get it in Realtree AP. They don't have alot at Cabelas until they restock this summer in preparation for hunting season. They also have microtex lite.

I have some predator camo pants that are 100% polyester. Best pants I've ever owned hands down. I wear them a lot and after about 4 years they're just now starting to show wear. They're loose and light and they dry in a hurry.

Hey bluebulls where did you get the Predator Camo at in polyester.  It seems the only pattern that comes in Polyester anywhere is Realtree AP.

Colockum they sell the polyester pants on their website, I picked up a couple pairs a few years ago from a Sportsman Warehouse.

Here is the link... http://www.predatorcamo.com/lrsStore/ViewProduct/515

I like the microtex as well, though I want to try out the firstlite when I get a little extra money.

Also if you are interested in the predator camo Grey Wolf Linens is supposed to be high quality camo clothing, but will cost you more money as well.

Dayone Camouflage is another choice with a variety of materials and patterns to choose from

Just got my First Lite wool GILA pants in the mail yesterday.  I also went up a size to the XL.  I really wanted them to be a good fit, but alas, the slender cut is just too severe for me and they are still a bit too tight, especially if I were to wear a pair of Merino wool longjohns underneathe.  Overall I really like the pants, but agree with JBar that they are very light and probably won't be used after September (weather depending).  I will be returning them and waiting for the new verison coming out around middle of June.

Supposedly they are a wider cut and will have an elastic waisteband, among other possible changes.  The other thing I didn't prefer was that the cargo pockets on the thigh area are on the front (top of your thigh) rather than the traditional BDU style on the side of your thigh.  I think that would bother me having items in those pockets when you squatted down and bent your knees.  Whatever is in those pockets would press against the top of your thigh as opposed to being off to the side.  Hopefully they change that pocket location, but don't know if they will.  Other than that, I think I will really like these pants for early archery hunts and turkey hunts, provided they are a wider, looser style.

i LOVE kings.  they dont have the exact pattern you are looking for but they have been the nicest heavy duty non cotton camo i have ever used.  check em out....

I can't give the King's lightweight pants a good review.  I bought 4 pair on closeout, and none of them fit very well.  I wear a 32-32.  I bought two pairs of 32's and 2 pairs of 34's.  The 32's I had to give away.  The 34's fit at the waist, but had absolutely no room in the crotch.  They are well made and comfortable in warm weather and tough in heavy cover.  My only complaint was the fit.  I love all their other gear such as coats, rain gear, and shirts.

i got the gila pants and they fit me great. i think i actually prefer the small pockets on the legs just because it makes me carry less in those pockets, wind checker on one leg and a call or range finder on the other. love the weight of them for sept bowhunts though.

Here is a link to the realtree site with a list of retailers that carry mens hunting clothing with their patterns. A good place to start that is for sure. If I find some I will let you know.

My collection is a hodge podge of various brands but none of them are cotton.  Some good merino wool base layers with good wicking mid layers and outerlayers.  Develop a layering system and add and subtract when necessary.  I like a vest in the high country that has wind blocking features.

I use the silent weave cotton/poly blend, and my raingear is the Cabela's MT 50 packable. Awesome combination.

Try cabelas Legacy fleece with windblocker.  I use them Sept thru November and unless it gets really nasty i am very pleased with them.

I looked at the website the other day, and the "Attack Pants" look interesting.  The problem I have is they're talking about materials I have never heard of and methods of contruction that sound interesting but are really meaningless to me on a web page without being able to see it, touch it, feel it etc.  I would love to get my hands on a pair of the Attack pants that were in my size to try them on and where I could talk to a real person about the materials and contruction and why they are superior to the usual materials (wool, synthetics, Goretex etc) we're all used to.

Yes that is the only problem with internet only (and being new).  I have a pair of Attack Pant on order and can let you know what I think of them when they get here.
