Taurus could probably design their own new handgun cartridge to be the primary ammo such that it could be a 'handgun'. But if it is greater than .50 then I think they might have to deal with the destructive device classification. Nice to see they are trying some new designs though.

Agreed, calling it a SBS is just retarded though. That would be an awesome gun to carry for grouse.

Unfortunately it will never make it to the marketplace as the ATF will not allow it.

I have shot some 44 and 357 shotshells and was not all that impressed with them. Not sure this would be any better.

Thats what everyone thought about "The Judge". For Grouse,it turned out to be worthless past about 10'.

Is the 28ga Raging Judge barrel rifled or smooth bore? If smooth bore, it will be hell on grouse and bunnies too. OTOH if it's rifled, it will be pretty much worthless IMHO.

IIRC,18" is the minimum barrel length for a shotgun (smooth bore) without having to jump through ATF hoops to own it.

Thats why Taurus puts a rifled barrel on them and sells them as revolvers.

they should at least put a choke tube in it that has little fins in it to cut into the shot cup slightly to stop the spin like the the T/C hot shot barrels.

I think it would be pretty good for the house. The only issue I've had from revolvers is when shooting loads around or above the max suggested pressure and making the rounds stick in the cylinder. I doubt this revolver would have those issues. Plus, if it has a rifled barrel....the shot will spread more giving a larger pattern at close range. Unless you guys have houses with 30-40 yard long hallways and bedrooms, a bird gun with buckshot will be like shooting a rifle anyways.
