My son's first deer
« on: February 10, 2011, 01:04:01 AM »
Here's my son Jon with his first deer (near Winthrop, WA).  He used a 50# Bear compound bow.  He teases me a lot, as I haven't gotten a deer yet.  :)

Tell him congrats. My first was a doe with bear not much different than that one.

I hunted with that bow for about 10 years before I gave it to him, and the first season he hunts with it HE gets a deer.  <sigh>

He got that doe up in the woods near the Chewuch River above Winthrop.  It is indeed a very nice area!

Great deer, nothing like doe backstraps!

Great suggestion!  After reading your post, I told him that the reason he got that deer was because I am a better guide than hunter.  He laughed big time!  :)
