New GHG Scoter Decoys for 2011

Here are some pics of the new Avery GHG scoter decoys that will be coming out this year.

because black milk jugs and old flambeau decoys painted black just won't work anymore...at least these GHG's will be easy to repaint.

These are popping up on all the sites but not for sale yet.I was told from GHG that they won't be available until july. Quit teasing us and just start selling them already.

They look good. Can't wait to see how much they are.  Make one bigger spread and let's just hope they open it back up to 4 birds a day next year.

they do look nice. Hopefully they're foam and not plastic, cuz we all know they'll get blasted   :hunt2:

wow! those look really nice, but its GHG what do you expect? they definitely have the best variety out there!

Nice looking decoys - It will be interesting to see how they hold up. 

Sea-duck hunting (low flying birds and the assocaited water whacking) can be pretty hard on decoys.  Would consider adding a few (though the price is a little steep) for additional realism however we will continue to rely on re-paints of old decoys for most of our spread.  We are on the look out for used "foamers" to repaint and add to the spread.

Don't see an increase in the scoter limit any time soon.  The current 2 bird limit is conservative and would expect that any increase will require some pretty solid information that the populations are increasing.  Don't expect any change for at least 4 or 5 years.

I haven't had a problem with any of my GHG decoys. They have held up better then my flambeaus and look better the my G&H decoys. Plus the scooter decoys are almost all black, hard to mess that up.

They look to be about $70-$80 per half dozen.  On the other forum they mentioned about $90 per 6.  That could be a lot for most.

Wow...they actually made hens.  I have always complained about the lack of hens in GHG decoys, but to finally make them for the one species where an all Drake spread actually makes sense. :dunno:  Would have loved to see hen Buff's, Goldeneyes, Redheads and Can's first.  Since our limit has been knocked down to two birds, I don't even hunt them anymore.  Now if they come out with a Brant decoy I will be interested in those for sure, unless they want an arm and a leg for them.

There are brant decoys out there for sale.  Carry-lite used to make them, but discontinued those.
