Mathews focus grip or torqueless grip
« on: February 17, 2011, 10:13:00 PM »
I have a 2010 mathews Z7 and i really don't like the feel of the stock grip. I have been looking at the mathews focus grip and the torqueless grip. I cant decide what one to get. Any of you guys put any one of these grips on your bow and what one do you prefer? Thanks

I've had a couple of Torqless Grips and highly recommended them.  Especially, over the stock Mathews grip.  I don't think you can really go wrong with either.  Both will eliminate the bulges that the stock Mathew grip has.  Before I get flamed by Z7 owners, yes the stock Z7 grip is improved over what Mathews has offered in the past.  Anyway, I'd go with the Torqueless just because I like a wood grip.  Also, they have some pretty amazing colors and patterns.  They look even better than the pics on their site.  Anyway, my  :twocents:

I have heard good things about both. I bought the focus grip and love it. It took a little getting use to because it's supper skinny. But I have improved my groups at longer distances since I put it on.

I have a Torqueless grip on my Outback and it's really good.  On my Z7 I have the Focus grip, also good.  I kind of like the Focus because of the line down the back of the grip and because it's almost a slight inverted v-shape.

However, you're not going to go wrong with either.  And the Torqueless is a very good grip and it looks WAY cooler with the wood handle.  Also, it depends on what you like for feel in the hand.  The Torqueless is nice and smooth (I actually like that a bit better) and the Focus is a rubber material (but not too grippy, thankfully.)

Either one is a huge improvement over the grip that comes with it (yes, even the redesigned grips aren't great.)
