Joe,
I hope you don't mind, but I saved your photo to my computer and then I adjusted the Layers in your photo to make it really pop for you.

I highly suggest that you enter this photo in the next "Open Subject" Photo contest here in the forum! You Absolutely Have a Winner Here, my Friend!!!!! My wife said that it is better than any photo I have ever taken!  :yike: :(

Congrats to you my friend!

Austrian,
Just about any Photo Editing software can adjust the photo to achieve the same results as I came up with.
In Adobe Photoshop CS3 you can adjust the levels of the photo. When I opened it up the levels were as low as they can be without being Totally underexposed. I simply slid the levels adjustment up a tad bit and then saved the settings. :)

Dmanmastertracker,
Awesome job on the signature! :) I bet Joe is going to be totally blown away by the differences in his photo. :)

Dick, This was a very nice thing that you did. I appreciate your efforts and kind words. It means a lot because I have seen many great photos by you. I am not sure what you mean by Open Subject contest but will try to figure it out. I look at yours and others pictures and really admire them. You guys are a lot smarter than I am at this. This picture happens to be in an area where I go to look at new born calf elk each year, I call it the Elk Hatchery.

I also want to thank Darrel for the signature, I love the font.

It means a lot to me that you guys that I have never met go out of your way to help me. I thank you very much and this is just another reason to appreciate this site.

Joe,
You are quite Welcome my friend! I love to help others in anything I can. :) (It must be the Eagle Scout training in me. ;) :) )

Also, Thank you for the very kind words about my photos. :) I enjoy taking photos and sharing them with others. :)

Keep an eye on the forum photo of the month contests. Every once in a while they have an Open Topic Contest where you could easily enter this photo and I am totally sure you would win the contest hands down! I know I sure would vote for your photo to win! :)

Dick,

I am totally blown away by the way you have adjusted my picture. You have taken it and made it look way better than I ever could. I can not thank you enough and am re-posting here so that others can see what your talent can do for a novice's picture.

Joe,
I'm so glad to see that you like what I did to your photo. :) I didn't do anything special or magical; I just tweaked the Levels of the photo, bumped up the Saturation by 20% and the contrast a touch. The photo was a really nice photo and it deserved a little attention. You, The Photographer; supplied the skills in the photo, I just buffed them up a bit to shine. ;) :)
A couple of the guys here in this forum have helped me pull a couple of ho-hum photo in to  pretty darned decent photos, so I was just paying it forward with the skills they shared with me. :) If you ever need another photo touched up, just ask. I'm always willing to help a friend out. That includes every other member of this forum too. :)

Glad you liked it, Have a Great Day!
