We had an army of robins march in last Saturday. It was a nice site watching them rip and tear up the ground, flinging leaves around like they were old worn out rugs. I also noticed some skunk cabbage poking through some mud. Yeah baby yeah... bring on some much deserved early spring  :IBCOOL: 8) :IBCOOL: 8)

Seen one Thursday walking to the barn, plus a bunch of starlings. Earliest I've ever seen them.

I have heard that robins used to be a game bird.  Does anyone have info on this or has anyone hunted them in the past?  :dunno:
Had a girlfriend in college that would eat them when she'd go canoeing, said they were delicious.

Crocuses blooming in my yard.

Neighbors sheep are dropping lambs like crazy. Saw a frog hop across the road last night. Grass and cattails growing. *censored*willows and filberts fuzzing up. Spring is near.

Cedar waxwings and robins all over my neighborhood this week. Nice mix of dark-eyed juncos and chestnut-backed chickadees, too. The snowdrop lilies are doing their typical February thing. (Whitman Co., WA). I wouldn't say spring is here, but it is sending advance notice!
