300 Ruger Compact Magnum
« on: February 22, 2011, 03:56:00 PM »
I've got a chance to pick one up around cost.  Any feedback would be great.  I've owned a .300 win mag, and currently shoot an 06, to give you an idea of where I'm coming from.

Thanks!

It's barely a gain over a 30-06 and ammo costs double, I wouldn't buy it.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I say get it. The 300 RCM won't offer you any improved performance, but never miss a chance to get a good deal on a gun. If you have the cash for it, buy it and try it. If yo don't like, just sell it.  :twocents: Heck, depending on the model, I might buy it from you if you don't like it.

buy it and put one less nail in it's coffin. support new rounds it's more fun that way, the 06 is great but boring:)
