I would try to set up on your next trip maybe a 1/4 mile from where you were busted last time. If you were using a call on the last trip just mix it up a little and try a different sound. It's possible that same dog could still be in the general area and will eagerly come in. You may also need to sit tight for a little longer as this dog is probably going to be a little more cautious the next time. Play the wind and keep movement to a minimum. I had the same thing happen to me last week, missed a standing broadside shot at 130 yards, I'm not worried about that dog so much as I was not calling at the time, they tend to come in out of curiosity as often as they do when they are hungry.
