Hat's off to you Jeff.  I know Ava, she is very deserving, as well-mannered a young lady as you will ever meet.  (Pretty sure she gets it from her mother, her dad on the other hand  :P)
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Well unfortunately Ava and her Dad could only make it out for opening day. At first light we were met with gale force winds, sideways rain and cold that cut to the bone.  Ava was a trooper and never complained. We saw a two toms all day and just couldn't close the deal.  Ava's invited out for the regular season for another opportunity and I can guarantee  better weather.

Grant... It was a pleasure to meet you and Ava, I hope you had a good time. I'll be in touch as the opener gets closer.

Jeff

My hat's off to you for providing the experience and for the followup in the regular season ... I have taken out many friends and family, and it means alot to see them light up when they get their first and even just with the experience.

Kudos to you Jeff for put this hunt on (second year) for the youth. :salute:

Ava and I had an absolute blast on the trip, which we view as successful.  Angie's biscuits with sausage gravy are to die for and the beef vegetable stew I know was a hit with us all after a nasty weather day like we had.  36 degrees, snow, sleet, rain, and an Ellensburg wind all day.  A little sliver of sun about mid-day, with no mercy from the wind though!  Ava really surprised me with her intestinal fortitude she displayed at age 12 throughout what mother nature threw at us!

Jeff, you are a gentleman and kindhearted and your wife is on the same pedestal as you.  Again, you two are welcome at my place anytime.  When you make that trip to Leavenworth this summer remember Entiat is only about 15 minutes north of Wenatchee...I'll be expecting you two....bring your appetite too!

Your taxidermy shop is one of the cleanest shops I've seen!  They all smell the same though (not a bad smell though) :chuckle:  Dayton was one cool town and we can't wait to get back!

Jeff and then Ava.
