From what I was told was these pictures were taken in the Blues outside pendelton oregon.  The guy told me that there was approx 2000 head.

I'm about 80% sure the first picture was used as Idaho's big game rules cover photo a couple years back.  :dunno:

That last picture reminds me of archery elk hunting the Quilomene in the 1980's.  Hundreds of elk would file out of the Brushy fields working their way up and into the timber every morning!  Sitting in ambush on one of those trails watching huge herds approaching single file right towards you was the definition of buck fever for me!  Should I mention it was ANY ELK for archers back then!!!  And, there were LOTS of elk!
