anyone else not fond of them? went to check one out today and i was really disappointed with the gold look and how wide and bulky it was. am i just being too picky?

yeah i was checkin out the a-bolts been seein them right at 600 and it seems like a pretty good deal, i just might have to jump on one soon.

I was not happy with the trigger on my A bolt until I replaced the spring, and now I've got a great trigger at only 2 1/2 pounds. The springs are sold by Timney and when I got mine it was only $15 but I think they've gone up a little since then. It takes 5 minutes to swap springs and if I can do it anybody can. All you need is a screwdriver.

Just checked out the Timney spring kit. Yeah, they are 24.95 for two springs. One gets ya the 2 1/2 the other is like a 3lb. Might have to give that a try just for shiggles.

ok... you guys all seem to have one, so heres another question. what do you guys think about the micro hunters? there is a .243 micro hunter i can get for 620ish out the door. im thinking this would be a good light weight mountain/deer/yote/target gun.  any thoughts? good and bad? my rifle right now is 11lbs i think something thats 7lbs might be nice for those long hikes.

Not quite sure what you are comparing them too. I have several Browning rifles and shotguns and love the trigger on the rifles compared to a lot of others I have shot. Mine have no creap and break light enough to keep me happy.

I have an Abolt with the Timmy trigger springs upgrade.  I bought them from Midway for on sale for around $20.00.  I have the light weight spring in right now and it tested out at 1.5 lbs.  :yike: For a hunting rifle that is too light for me so I'm going to switch it out for the heavier spring and see what the trigger breaks at.  But I really like how the trigger breaks on all my brownings.

my 300wsm a bolt adjusted to the lightest trigger pull possible with the facotry stuff is right at 3.5 lbs

i think there was a misunderstanding here, i didn't mean the trigger pull i meant the trigger its self lol the trigger pull wasn't bad at all nice and crisp and not stiff at all for a stock set up imo
