All this talk got me to thinking about them again. Then I ran into one in .357 mag. Hmmm. Push the chamber out for .357 MAX, toss my 14 power mil dot on it, and then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Does this ruger have CHP stamped on the flat's?

I have a #1 in 25-06 that is only fairly accurate, it struggles to stay under 1.5" @ 100 yards.  Killed a LOT of critters with it over the last 30 years though.

I also have a #1 in 45-70 that is fantastically accurate.  Unlike the 25-06 it will shoot just about any bullet, cast or jacketed, at any velocity, accurately.  Even at .45 caliber, breaking 1 moa is no big deal.

I did not see the gun in person. It was on-line, but yes, it is a CHP gun. Here is the link:

Kind of pricey for me at $1100 buy it now, but it would probably be a fun one.

The price is steep because it's a CHP gun.
